Acne Treatment Products That Work


When the skin suffers from acne, it is common to try different types of creams, lotions and gels to try and relieve the acne breakouts. While most products seem to exacerbate acne, a few can be very helpful.

 Soap for Sensitive Skin
o    Soaps formulated for sensitive skin are designed to clean the skin without damaging or inflaming it. This is because cleansers for sensitive skin types do not contain harsh chemical ingredients.
 
 
 

Alcohol-Free Toner

o    Toning the skin helps close and reduce the size of the pores while removing any excess dirt and residue that the soap left behind. Use only an alcohol-free toner, which will not overly dry the skin.





Low Concentration Benzoyl Peroxide

o    Low concentration benzoyl peroxide creams, 2.5 percent or lower, will help reduce prevent acne without causing too much irritation or peeling.




Oil-Free Moisturizer

o    Using an oil-free moisturizer will help the skin to remain soft and supple, even when using the benzoyl peroxide cream. Using only an oil-free lotion will prevent the pores from becoming clogged.



Calamine Lotion Spot Treatment

o    Calamine lotion can dry up acne in the same way that it traditionally dries up chicken pox or poison ivy. Apply a dab of calamine lotion to acne blemishes, leaving it on overnight.
